Michael Kubala, Tap and Musical
Theatre Dance
Chicago marks Mr. Kubala’s seventh Broadway show.
Prior to joining the company of Chicago, he also appeared in
the Tony award winning production of Crazy for You,
where he also understudied the lead roles of Bobby Child and
Lank Hawkins. Other Broadway shows include: Jerome
Robbins’ Broadway, Bob Fossi’s Dancin’, Woman of the Year,
Marilyn: An American Fable and A Broadway Musical. Mr.
Kubala starred as “Junior” in the National touring
company of On Your Toes (directed by George Abbott)
and he was nominated for a Carbonell award for his
performance. In addition, he played Louis and was standby
for the title role in the national tour of Pippin
starring Ben Vereen. He co-starred at Radio City Music
Hall’s 50th Anniversary show, ENCORE and immediately
following this, joined Liza Minnelli on her acclaimed
National and International tours. Off-Broadway, he was
featured in Double Feature and Ann Reinking’s
Music Moves Me at the Joyce Theatre. Mr. Kubala’s hectic
schedule finds him wearing a variety of different hats at
the same time. While performing nightly in Chicago,
he has spent his days directing and choreographing projects
for television, theatre and cruise lines. T.V. appearances
include “Married People,” “David Letterman,” PBS
specials and the Tony Awards. Michael is especially proud of
his teaching for the University of California Irvine, the
Meet the Artist series at Lincoln Center and New York
Off-Stage song and dance seminars.
