Cancellations/Illness/Missed Lessons (other than those detailed)
As a courtesy to your teacher, please notify New Centre for the
Arts in advance of any absence by calling the office at
203-775-2804.
Private Instruction
Students are to inform the office at the start of each month as
to the dates that will be missed due to prior obligations; these
lessons will be offered as credit or a make-up. After the schedule
is set at the start of the month any missed lessons will not be
considered for make-up or credit under any circumstance.
An instructor’s absence or school cancellation due to inclement
weather requires that the lesson be made up at mutually convenient
time by the end of the semester. If an instructor is unable to make
up a missed lesson, which was due to instructor’s absence or NCA
cancellation, the account will be credited for the following month.
Tardiness
Due to our faculty’s set schedules, students who are late for a
lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time. Faculty will
wait for a student for one third of their lesson time; students are
asked to do the same. Missed lesson time due to faculty tardiness
will be made up at a mutually convenient time.
School Closings & Delays/Inclement weather
A recorded message on the School’s machine 203-775-2804 will
provide up-to-date information on closings and cancellations.
Students will not receive personal notification from NCA. The
decision to close NCA is determined by safety conditions in
Brookfield, Greater Danbury and state highway advisories. In event
of a closing, the missed lesson is treated as an instructor absence
and will either be considered a make-up or a credit will be issued
for the following month.
Payment Schedule
All students registered for private lessons are *required to
pay at the beginning of each month in full. Payment must be made
within the first week of the month or a $15 late fee will apply.
Delinquent Accounts
NCA reserves the right to suspend or discontinue instruction of
any student at any time during a semester that is delinquent in
fulfilling his/her financial obligations.
Withdrawals & Refunds
Registration obligates a student to fulfill an entire class session
or private lesson schedule. Notice of withdrawal must be made in
writing to the NCA main office. Lapsed attendance from
lessons/classes does not excuse you from your obligation to pay for
the remainder of the month. Once the main office has confirmed
placement of a student in a lesson /class slot, the registration fee
becomes non-refundable
*All tuition paid will be refunded if notice of withdrawal is
received at least 24 hours before the first scheduled lesson/class.
*All tuition paid, minus the cost of one lesson/class will be
refunded if notice of withdrawal is received 48 hours before the
second scheduled lesson/class. *Students who discontinue instruction
after the second scheduled lesson/class meeting are responsible for
the full month’s tuition and fees. |
